A laser scanner generates a laser or scan line diagonally to the profile. The scanner software determines reliably the exact dimensions and compares them with the allowed tolerances.  
If the profile is moved diagonally to the scan line, a 3 D image of the surface is generated. Thereby besides the directness of the profile also defectives of the material or the handling can be detected in a reliable way.

Thickness Measurement 
 Dickenkontrolle mit Laser Scanner

Two laser sensors are positioned above and lower of the material which has to be measured. Each of the measured results are analysed and the exact thickness of the material is put out. By this type of construction of the measurement oscillations caused by the manufacturing process and variations of the material are excluded.

If the material which has to be measured is directed through a guide roll a measurement of the thickness directly on the roll is possible.
